海のロザリオ（rosary from the sea）
青や緑の小鳥たちが届けてくれた白いサシェ（小袋）が二つ。
Mistletoe（ミスルトゥ：宿り木）という名のお店の
青のロザリオと、緑のブレスレットが入っています。
プロテスタントのクリスチャン・ファミリーのsnowdropが
ロザリオを持つのは、生まれて初めてのことです。
（ブレスレットは三日月の頃「うた暦」でお見せします）
Blue and green birds delivered white sachets
containing a blue rosary and a green bracelet
made by Madam Mistletoe.
I have never possessed a rosary because
I belong to a Protestant family.
You will see the bracelet in my other blog.
ミスルトゥの店主さまにお願いして
オーダーメイドさせて頂きました。
ボッティチェリの「書物の聖母」のイメージで
ラピスラズリをベースに。
この聖母の左肩にゆらめく星影が見えますか。
これは「海の星」を表しています。
海の星 Stella Maris というラテン語の呼び名は
マリアのヘブライ名Miriamからきているとか。
（ミリアム…三原順の漫画「ロングアゴー」にもいましたね）
The rosary is a made-to-order one.
The blue of lapis lazuli reminds me of the blue sea.
This blue mantle of Virgin Mary is embroidered with
Stella Maris (derived from Hebrew name, Miriam).
聖母マリアは水辺に描かれることがよくあります。
ラファエロの「牧場の聖母」の背景に描かれた湖。
そのほとりに、聖母のメダイを置いてみました。
見たことのないルルドの泉に思いをはせながら…

Virgin Mary is often represented near water.
I put the medal in the details of Madonna del Plato by Raphael
imaging the holy spring at Lourdes where I have never been to.
On February 11th in 1858, Mary first appeared to Bernadette.
ロザリオの中心になるのは聖母の一人子、イエス・キリストの十字架です。
私がロザリオを持たなかったのは、十字架上のイエスが痛ましかったから。
けれども、この十字架には小麦と葡萄が表されています。
小麦はパン、葡萄はワインとなり、パンとワインはキリストの聖体です。
その上にJHSの三文字が。
Jesus Hominum Salvator （救いの人イエス）の略です。
The rosary includes a cross of Jesus Hominum Salvator.
The wheat (bread) and grapes (wine) on the cross
are symbols of Jesus Christ.

この十字架に魅せられ、ロザリオのデザインはここから決めてゆきました。
十字架が白銀色なので、メダイはシルバーに。
数珠は海の色のラピスラズリと真珠の組み合わせ。
細かいリクエストに応じて下さったmistletoeさま、
本当にありがとうございます。
I was charmed by this cross above all, which led to this rosary's design.
mistletoeさまは「花の窓」のご主人でもいらっしゃいます。
「花の窓」の前身は「海の古書店」です。
むかしsnowdropがうっとりと散策し、道に迷って
二度と辿り着けなかった海の古書店…
思いがけず、ふたたび巡りあうことができました。
Madam Mistletoe is a blog manager of "Flower Window" and
used to be a owner of an antiquarian bookshop by the sea.
