sometimes
straining my ears
on a pass
still with the body
bathed in the moonlight
― Shaku Neko, tr.by Yukiko Kawakami
Here is the first collection of tanka composed by Shaku Neko,
Still With the Body Bathed in the Moonlight
and a tanka-magazine, one of whose articles refers to her tanka.

I once gave up typing in English during high school.
Then the word processor appeared when I was at university.
I have chosen Roman letter input rather than Japanese one
because I can apply it to foreign languages also.
But according to Shaku-san's tanka, the Roman letter input
tears Japanese into the vowel and consonant !
To tell the truth, I can compose tanka more smoothly
with PC than with a pen, like playing the piano with both hands!
Will typing in English weaken the spirit of Japanese language ?!
